2009 Christmas Party

The 2009 Eighty Options Christmas sail was a new experience for some and thoroughly enjoyable for all.

Prepared with supplies of fresh sushi (ordered online from the recently launched www.sush.com.au/online) and a few beers, the Eighty Options team split into two crews of four and ventured into the Derwent aboard a pair of Elliot 24s kindly provided by the RYCT.

Soon after leaving the marina the weather turned up the excitement levels by providing a stiff breeze and a few whitecaps, quickly destroying any misconceptions that the afternoon was going to be some sort of Champagne cruise.

Crews were quickly whipped into shape with a little barking from the captains and the race was on. Beating to Sandy Bay Beach, a reach to Bellerive and then home for the last box of Sushi.

It was great to have so many of the Eighty Options team local for the celebrations, especially Tim and Sarah who came all the way from Vancouver.
