First Eighty Options Code Sprint

Well TH just finished up the last shift of the first Eighty Options Code Sprint Week and is heading back to Whistler for a few days of mountain biking. For those of us here at HQ in Hobart the post-sprint beers started mid-afternoon yesterday but as TH represents the team's latest timezone he was able to carry the baton a little further.

Code Sprint Week wasn't just a chance to clear a few projects but was an exercise in team building, skill sharing and improving efficiency. With a mixture of local and remote staff, multiple timezones and my own odd working hours to contend with, this was a chance to have a close look at how we operate and work out how we can assist each other.

Goal-wise it was also a resounding success. It was difficult not to over-commit at the start of the week and there was part of me that was sceptical about getting through everything but by the end of the week we just managed to scrape it in.

Big thanks to all the team for their dedication throughout the week and a special shout out to Stu who joined us for a week of work experience. It was great having you on the team for a week Stu and we hope to hear more from you (and your drupal adventures) in the future.
