The SPREP Library system is a special library that exists to provide environmental information services to SPREP staff, its projects and programmes; and to its member countries. It is a unique repository of publications, periodicals, scientific and technical reports prepared by SPREP, its member countries, stakeholders and partners.
The Pacific Environment Portal provides an easy way to find, access and reuse regional and national data. The network of data portals includes national portals, integrated with the regional portal.
The data portal platform is built upon EKAN, a Drupal based open source, open data solution developed by Eighty Options.
The CRAVT automatically combines vessel-related data and information from several Regional Fisheries Management Organisations (RFMOs) and Regional Fisheries Bodies (RFBs). The CRAVT can be used to search for specific vessels or browse groups of vessels including by flag, vessel type or RFMO or RFB. The CRAVT identifies where differences exist between RFMO or RFB records for a specific vessel.
The SPREP Pacific Seabirds Database helps Pacific Island Countries and Territories to build knowledge of seabirds of the Pacific, their distribution and especially over time their population trends.
The FFA e-PSM streamlines the port entry request process for fishing vessel operators and strengthens the processes of Port States to conduct risk assessments and vessel inspections.
All foreign fishing vessels wishing to obtain a national fishing license from any FFA Member country must be registered with FFA. The FFA Vessel Register procedures act as a basic entry level requirement into the region that ensures vessel operators provide a minimum set of registration elements; meet the FAO Standard Specifications for the marking and identification of fishing vessels and reporting automatically, normally and consistently to the FFA VMS.
The WCPFC RFV is a combined list of all the details that each Member and Cooperating Non-Member has provided to the WCPFC Secretariat of its vessels that are authorized to fish beyond its national jurisdiction within the Convention Area (it is made up of the details of each vessel that is on a particular Members or Cooperating Non-Members national record of fishing vessels and maintained by the Secretariat in accordance with Article 24 of the WCPF Convention).
This site supports the general information publishing needs of the North Pacific Fisheries Commission (NPFC) as well as supporting ongoing meetings of the Scientific Committee, Technical and Compliance Committee and the Finance and Administration Committee. Members of the convention maintain registration details of their fishing fleets as well as sightings of illegal, unreported and unregistered fishing activities.
The Bycatch Management Information System (BMIS) is an open resource useful for fishery managers, fishers, scientists, observers, educators and anyone with an interest in fisheries management, BMIS presents a range of resources in easy to navigate and search formats which are both educational and practical tools to help limit the incidental capture of non-target species in tuna and billfish fisheries in the Western Central Pacific region.
Writing code is at the core of our expertise.
We're software engineers, so we understand all the nuts and bolts that make online software work.
We don't waste time re-inventing wheels and that's why we work with open source. We also really love coding up custom modules and custom themes.
We enjoy solving challenging problems with elegant solutions.
