About Eighty Options

Eighty Options is a Hobart based web development business that provides services to small and medium enterprises locally in Tasmania as well as throughout Australia and overseas.

We focus on development using Drupal, an enterprise-ready, open-source content management framework that powers some of the world’s largest and most popular websites.
Eighty Options has been developing with Drupal since version 4.6. Yes, that's ten years of Drupal experience!

Our Work

  • Eighty Options developed a new website for Anglicare Tasmania in 2014, working closely with Anglicare Tasmania's own graphic designer.

This website was built with Drupal 7 and features a responsive design, advanced search tools (leveraging Apache SOLR), content workflow managment and advanced flexibility of layouts through using Drupal's Panelizer and In-Place-Editor modules.

  • The NERP Marine Biodiversity Hub provides scientific information and advice to support decision making in the marine environment.

The Marine Biodiversity Hub is supported through funding from the Australian Government’s National Environmental Research Program (NERP), administered by the Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities (DSEWPaC).

This website has been built using Drupal 7.x, a custom theme and custom modules supporting document management, intranet requirements and an image and video media repository.

  • The WCPFC website supports the secretariate to communicate with commission members and other stakeholders. The site has been built upon Drupal 7 and includes advanced technical features such as full text search of meeting documents (Apache SOLR faceted search) and data synchronisation with a Sharepoint intranet server.

  • provides practice material for learning Thai online. This service hosts over 5,000 practice phrases that the student can use in the form of typing exercises, combined with word-by-word highlighting and audio.

By using typing exercises the students build keyboard literacy skills along with their other Thai literacy skills, quickly becoming familiar with the Thai keyboard. The physical act of typing also assists retention through muscle memory and it is easier for students learning Thai to adapt to a different keyboard layout than practicing with the traditional pen-on-paper methods.

  • CCAMLR is an international commission with 25 Members, and a further 10 countries have acceded to the Convention. Based on the best available scientific information, the Commission agrees a set of conservation measures that determine the use of marine living resources in the Antarctic.

CCAMLR has been built using Drupal 7. The website operates in 4 languages and hosts a range of Drupal-driven databases, meeting managements tools including registration and document management; content authoring workflow control and full-text document indexing with Apache SOLR.
